Screenprint drawings, daylight food, quiet icons
Pantri’s pictures are flat line drawings of pantry things, printed slightly off-register like a screenprint. Photos appear only on recipes. Icons are Lucide, thin and round.
The pantry kit
- Line
- 2px Cocoa (#2A211B) outline at 124px artboard, round caps and joins. Scale the whole drawing; never thin the line below 1.5px.
- Fill
- Flat Clay, Saffron, Sage, Raised or Paper. Fills sit 3px down and right of the outline, like a slightly misregistered screenprint. No gradients, no texture, no shading.
- Subjects
- Things in a kitchen: jars, tins, a lemon, a pumpkin wedge, bags, a tomato, a chopping board. No faces, no mascots, no people, no retailer products or packaging.
- Where
- Empty states, the landing page, onboarding’s “all set” moment and email. Never inside a row or a list screen with data.
- How many
- One to three objects in a group, sitting on a shared baseline. Never a scattered sticker wall.
Illustration earns its place here
Plan this week’s dinners and we’ll write the list for what’s missing.
Plan this weekAn empty state has three parts: one illustration, a Fraunces title that says what’s here (or isn’t), and one next step in the Action button.
Don’t replace an empty state with a bare spinner, and don’t joke about it.
Nothing planned for Thursday.
Uh oh, looks like you’ve got nothing! 😬
